Every trip begins with a brief layover in the Austin P-Club. Monica's quite ready to get moving, though.

We spent an evening in LA visiting with Andy Cobb. Drinks and stimulating conversation at the White Horse in Hollywood.

Our suite in Papeete, Tahiti -- our second stop on the way to New Zealand.

We only spent one evening on the ground in Tahiti, but even factoring in the cost of the hotel it still worked out to be cheaper than a direct flight would have cost.

First things first -- we pick up our rental Eunos *
