Two old pictures of me. . .
On the left, the picture in question. On the right, me with long hair.
Where'd you get that picture, Nugget?
It was taken by Paul McIntire (ptmcintir@access.iupui.edu) some time in March of 1994 with some Canon digital camera that he had "borrowed" from his college. On the whole, I've got to say that I'm impressed with the picture quality. The lighting conditions were far from optimal.
It does look kind of dark. Where were you?
I was living in Indianapolis at the time and we were all out at a club called The Patio located right in the middle of the bohemian district, Broad Ripple. Odds are, it was a Wednesday night, because Wednesdays were no-cover, 50-cent draft night. Wednesday was also the night where they played good techno music and opened up the dance floor.
50-cent draft... I see... So what were you drinking?
That's the top of a bottle of Rolling Rock that you see there in my hand. I can't stand that cheap draft beer they serve at The Patio.
You sound like some kind of drunk!
[laughs] No, actually I'm the first to admit that I'm a cheap drunk. Two, maybe three beers is enough to put me under the table. Or at least it usually enough to improve my pool game substantially and make me slur my words. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. A night on the town isn't that expensive a venture for me.
So you must go out every night then, eh?
It tends to cycle for me. I'll have a couple of weeks that I'm out every night and then go months without ever going out. It depends on what sort of mood I'm in, I guess.
So what do you do when you don't go out?
We're kinda straying away from our topic, aren't we?
Update: 12-Jul-2002
So what's the deal with this picture and page?
Back when I had long hair I had a link from my main home page that pointed to this page. As I recall, it was linked by some flippant remark about how different I looked with short hair. Of course, now I have short hair again so the picture doesn't look all that odd any more. I just look a decade younger and have no goatee. However, this page seemed popular enough that I kept it.
